Jammu, Aug 31: Commissioner Secretary, PHE and I&FC, Ajeet Kumar Sahu today asked the PHE authorities to streamline revenue collection and fast pace ongoing projects.
He was reviewing the functioning of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department in Jammu division here at a meeting.
The Commissioner Secretary had a detailed review on the overall functioning of the PHE department and sought a comprehensive report on revenue realization, regularization of water connections, status of major projects, languishing projects and several other ongoing projects and schemes under different heads.
Sahu had a detailed briefing on the district wise revenue collection in Jammu Division and directed the SEs to personally monitor the revenue collection and instructed the concerned to prepare an inclusive report for the same. He further asked them to maintain a database of targets achieved for regularization of domestic, commercial and institutional water connections.
The Commissioner Secretary stressed on fast pacing of the revenue collection and said that the realization of revenue must be done on mission mode. The meeting was also briefed about the category-wise regularization of water connections.
Sahu asked the concerned functionaries to conduct regular review meetings at local level. He asked them to submit the list of completed works.
Sahu entrusted upon the concerned to motivate the consumers to deposit the bills through various modes and directed for taking strict action against the defaulters.
The meeting was also informed about the status of major programmes of PHE sectors including National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP), Schemes under NABARD, Water Supply Schemes and languishing projects.
A detailed discussion was also held on distribution of generated water bills, recovery of revenue from government departments, water tariff collection and alike. The meeting also discussed the strategies for achieving the set targets.
Chief Engineer, Dr Sanjeev K. Chadha, SEs- MP Singh, Naresh Kumar, KK Badyal, Sumeet Puri, JP Singh, Manesh Bhat, XEns and other concerned senior officers attended the meeting. |
