| Concerned officer given two charges, hardly pay visit at office | | 'Labour Deptt Poonch in total mess' | | Rajesh Tandon

Poonch, Sept 29: The Labour Department in Poonch has been running in total mess as the concerned officer has been given two charges in different departments due to which he hardly shows his presence in the department putting people visiting in the office in difficulty.
Sources told Early Times that the Assistant Labour Commissioner Poonch Mohammad Jahangir has been given additional charge of CDPO Mendhar in Rajouri District due to which he remains busy in moving from one department to other due to which people who visit Labour Department office had to face problems for not getting their work done as without his presence no public work is being done.
"The business community in Poonch district has been facing huge difficulty in absence of Assistant Labour Commissioner in the Department as mandatory C Farms, Labour Card of employees are not being issued putting them in metal distress," said members of business community of Poonch.
"I have paid over dozen visits to Labour Department but never find Assistant Commissioner in his office due to which I have come back. The employees and other officers in the department express helplessness and refuse to do work," said Amit Gupta who runs a Mobile Shop in main bazaar Poonch.
It has also been observed that the employees demand bribe from the visitors for doing their work and some people had to grease their palms for avoiding harassment. Moreover, the Inspector in the department has been given temporary charge which is also cause of their trouble as officials works are not being done smoothly. The local members of business community demanded permanent labor inspector. |
