Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 4: Like in other parts, the hilly District of Kishtwar in last three decades has witnessed large scale destruction including the killings and massacres claiming hundreds of innocent lives with the onset of militancy over 30 years ago.
The killings of Parihar brothers and a RSS leader in last one year has further jolted the confidence of the peace loving people of Kishtwar District which on one side had witnessed ugly face of terrorism while at the same time has witnessed around five major incidents of communal clashes that further damages the spirit of common people as authorities at the helm of the affairs fail to punish the culprits involved behind all these incident.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the rise in the militancy and growing radicalization in trouble torn District of Kishtwar in last few years was linked to prevailing corruption in police department as well as the growing political interference in police investigations that help the anti national elements to keep its pot boiling which ultimately led to killing of BJP State Secretary Anil Parihar, his brother Ajeet Parihar, RSS leader Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO Rajinder Singh beside the two incident of weapon snatching involving PSO of DC Kishtwar and PDP District President Kishtwar that ultimately leads to the opening of Pandora box that help the Kishtwar police and other law enforcing agencies including NIA, IB, CIU, MI,CRPF, Army, DSB, CID CI, CID SB, etc who work jointly under the command & control of SSP Kishtwar Dr. Harmeet Singh as a result of which Kishtwar police so far manage to identify dozens of OGWs who help the militants to increase its base in Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas to carry out terror related activities at its own sweet will.
If analyzing the list of the OGWs and the militants who are coconspirator in killings of Parihar brothers & RSS leader and was arrested by the present day Kishtwar police, many of them had fallen in the net of police investigation in past several times-but was released either with the help of political nexus or by using the corrupt police nexus influenced by few cops who were in direct contact with the senior officials at the help of the affairs and was known for brilliance in manipulating the things giving an impression to the senior officials that the detained persons were innocent and had no link with the militants but are political victims since they had affiliated themselves with a particular political party.
With the imposition of Governor's rule followed by abrogation of Article 370 and reorganization of the state of Jammu and Kashmir into union territory gives additional cover to Kishtwar police to investigate the high profile people who are helping the militants in one or other way since majority of these politicians who were supporting them for political gains were either under house detention or under restrictions saving themselves from being jailed as such avoiding to put their hands in trouble water by supporting the people grilled by the Kishtwar police for their links with the militants which ultimately help the Kishtwar police to unearth the deep assets used by them in the form of terror hideouts in Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas and book the high profile OGWs and militants and thus solved the four important cases of Parihar brothers killing, RSS leader killing and two weapon snatching incident beside successfully manage to put pressure on the militants who were on run following crackdown on their safe heavens resulted into their killings during an encounter at Batote on September 28 including the group leader Osama Bin Javed.
Some of the arrested persons were even supported by the ruling dispensation and the Early Times in past had carried out reports regarding the directions from ISI and Pakistani army to its sympathizers to come close to various political parties and even to get close to security forces by making friendships with them so that they can come to their rescue as and when they found themselves in trouble.
Surprisingly an attempt by the high profile cop was even made few months ago where a high profile letter of IGP CID got leaked in which it was given an impression that Shopian based cop turn militant Naveed Babu was involved in killing of RSS leader beside also named two senior BJP leaders as next potential target of militants which according to the senior officials of Kishtwar police at time was seen as an attempt to deliberately hoodwink the investigation by diverting the attention of the police investigation as according to the senior officials, Naveed Babu had never left the Shopian during the said period and wonder how the letter of IGP CID got leaked and comes to public domain.
The other aspect of the success of Kishtwar police comes after the cops who were influencing and misguiding the senior officials were shown doors and a fresh team of non locals were brought to Kishtwar to assist the things so that the things that took place inside could be prevented from leaking to outsiders as locals were earlier found responsible for leaking vital information to outsiders that also played key role to hamper and botch up in terror investigation.
