| Director Horticulture reviews developmental activities in Jammu division | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 9: Director Horticulture, Jammu, R K Katoch today chaired a meeting to review the developmental activities under Horticulture sector in Jammu division.
During the meeting, the Director impressed upon all the Chief Horticulture Officers to expedite physical and financial achievements under various components of State as well as Centrally Sponsored Schemes in time bound manner. He instructed all officers to make close liaison with orchardists/farmers so that the benefit of various schemes can reach at their doorstep.
He directed all officers to organize Farmers Awareness Camps at far flung areas for dissemination of technology being adopted by the progressive orchardists of neighbouring states. He emphasized production of quality planting material in the Departmental nurseries so that the same can be made available for the farmers at reasonable rates. Director Horticulture discussed the strategy regarding implementation of Backyard Horticulture. To generate employment opportunities for the unemployed youth, He directed all officers to organize Skill Development Programme under MIDH 2019-20. |
