Early Times Report

Srinagar, Nov 9: The untimely snowfall in the valley has brought early market for the winter shoes for all the age groups with residents roaming from one place to another to buy shoes.
The valley witnessed the season's snowfall on Thursday evening disturbing the normal life completely across the region. While as, mercury went down to several notches resulting in slippery roads, which made people tough to move around.
So, residents are buying winter shoes to roam around from one place to another.
"I did not have shoes that would have suited in this untimely snow. So, I am thinking of buying one from Lal Chowk or Batamaloo", said Shameem.
He added that this snow has changed the daily normal life of every citizen in the valley and now people will look out for essential items that will be used this winter season.
"My kids have a habit of playing and roaming around in snow and I did not want their feet to be turned cold. So I am here at the queue in the shop to buy two shoes for my kids", said Bilal, a parent.
Not only men or kids shoes are in demand. Many females and teen ager girls can be seen at shops.
"My exams are going on and I cannot visit exam centre with the kinds of shoes I have at home. So, therefore, I told my brother to get one of the winter shoes for me as soon as possible as I feel winter is going to be tough", said Masrat, a student.
Meanwhile, the rates of winter shoes vary from 500 to 1000 rupees. While as, the shopkeepers are running out of the stock with huge demand of winter shoes from people across the region.
"I have run out of the winter shoes so I have brought many more items from my dealer and it will take some days. I have sold almost more than 50 pieces of winter shoes since yesterday and the demand is growing", said Mubeen, a shopkeeper.
People will now change their style as per the winter season, he added.
