Sweets distributed as Jammu welcomes SC verdict in Ayodhya case

Jammu, Nov 9: People in Jammu on Saturday welcomed the Supreme Court judgment in the Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case by distributing sweets as security forces enforced strict prohibitory orders to maintain law and order.
Barring bursting of firecrackers at some places shortly after the apex court delivered the verdict, the overall situation in the city of temples remained by and large peaceful with no untoward incident reported from anywhere, officials said.
The Supreme Court on Saturday cleared the way for the construction of a Ram Temple at the disputed site at Ayodhya, and directed the Centre to allot a five-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a mosque.
"We welcome the historic and balanced judgement of the Supreme Court. It is a victory for the 130 crore citizens and I hope that the people will maintain peace and harmony for the progress and development of the country," president of Jammu and Kashmir unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Leela Karan Sharma told reporters here.
Sharma visited the party headquarters to celebrate the decision with his colleagues and distributed sweets amid chants of "Jai Shri Ram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai".
"The judgement is a tribute to lakhs of ''karykartas'' (activists) who had laid their lives for the liberation of Ram Janam Bhoomi during last 491 years of struggle. The judgement has balanced the plea of the other side by directing the Centre to provide alternative land for construction of mosque which we welcome wholeheartedly," he said.
Welcoming the Supreme Court's verdict on Ayodhya land dispute, former MLC and Senior BJP leader Vikram Randhawa termed it a historic decision and said that it is tight slap to the people having separatist mindset.
While talking to Early Times, Randhawa expressed his happiness over the SC's decision, in which disputed Ram Janam Bhoomi land was given to Ram Janam Bhoomi Nyas for construction of temple. Talking about UT, Randhawa said that the Jammu will see new era of development
Shiv Sena Dogra Front president Ashok Gupta also distributed sweets at a function here and said "the decision has come as a win win situation for both the sides".
The Secretary of Anjuman-e-Imamia, Prof Shujat Ali Khan, welcomed the judgement of the five-member Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and said any wrong decision would have set the entire country on fire.
"We should respect the judgement in the long running dispute and work together to maintain peace and communal harmony," he said, claiming that vested interests were the biggest obstacle in peaceful resolution of the dispute.
Jammu West Assembly movement president Sunil Dimple also welcomed the decision and said everyone, irrespective of religious affiliation, are happy with the verdict.
"We should maintain brotherhood for the progress of our country. The judgement is neither a win or a defeat for anyone," he said, appealing to the administration to immediately lift the restrictions and allow people of all communities to celebrate the "historic occasion".
Veteran leader and Former Minister Jammu and Kashmir Thakur Randhir Singh has welcomed the Supreme court's landmark verdict that cleared way for the construction of a Ram Temple at the disputed site in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya and asked all to respect the judgement. Mr Singh said a landmark judgment in the Ayodhya land dispute case that has been pending for over 70 years.
The Supreme court has asked the Centre to provide an alternate land of 5 acres to the Sunni Waqf Board to build a mosque.Mr Singh said "The court has done justice to both the communities and the historic verdict must be welcomed by all sections of the society,"
Sham Lal Gupta Chairman NGO ,Third Eye Anti Crime Team has welcomed the historic Verdict of Supreme Court on Ram Janam Bhumi Babri Masjid.
Gupta said this decision, the SC verdict has strenthen the bonds of Communal harmony brother hood of India between Hindus and Muslims.
He appealed the people of Jammu Kashmir to maintain Communal Harmony,Peace and brother hood at all cost and work for strengthing our nation India.
Chairman Gupta has greeted the Nation on its Decision Jointely.
Supreme Court's verdict over Ayodhya despite in both border districts calmly welcomed by all walk of life.
Social activist Parvez Waffa welcomed the decision of Supreme Court on Ayodhya case and appealed to people to maintain peace and harmony.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, Wafa said that the Supreme Court decision in the Ayodhya case cannot be a matter of credit or discredit to any individual, group of people, community or political party. He said the Supreme Court has respected faith and belief.
"The judiciary is supreme and everyone should respect the decision. It is the time to present a united face before the world because entire world is looking at India today," Waffa said.
"We respect and accept the verdict. I appeal to the people of J&K to maintain harmony and peace.
This is the victory of the judiciary and the message should be loud and clear that how much the judiciary is important for us and people of the country are peace loving, he said.
