DDC Pulwama directs PDD officials to mobilize men, machinery restoration of electricity

pULWAMA, Nov 10: District Development Commissioner, Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer, today took stock of electricity, water supply and other schemes.
The DDC visited Newa, Panjgam, Chakura and adjoining areas of south Kashmir district-taking stock of restoration of power and water supply and other essential commodities in these areas.
At Newa and Panjgam, the DDC inspected the grid stations and took stock of restoration of electricity. He was apprised that both the grids have been partially restored and all feeders will be restored shortly. He directed concerned PDD officials to mobilize men and machinery for cent percent restoration of the electricity in the district.
He also visits Bulbul Nag water supply scheme Newa which caters about 32 habitations and was remained affected due unavailability of electricity. He directed PHE officials to ensure restoration of drinking water supply to these habitations at an earliest.
Regarding Nawpora water supply scheme DDC directed revenue officials to seek the pending land related matter with the concerned land owner so that the construction work on said scheme could be started.
On the occasion, locals also apprised with the problems faced by them due to unavailability of power and water supply amid harsh winter season. They demanded early restoration of electricity, drinking water supply, maintained of LT lines and poles in their areas.
The DDC said that in Awantipora division 70% to 75% electricity while in Pulwama Division almost 60% to 65% power supply has been restored .He said all men and machinery is on job to restore damaged HT and LT lines so that electricity supply in the district will be completely in shortest possible time.
