| Fire Station demanded in Sunderbani | | | AB Sharma

Sunderbani, Nov 10: The locals of Sunderbani city have demanded establishment of Fire Station in Sunderbani Town of district Rajouri.
The locals said that there is dire need of Fire Station in the town to face any untoward incident due to breaking out of fire in the city. "The town is very populated with hundreds of shops, hotels and other business establishments but in case of fire incident, there is no Fire Station to extinguish the fire which causes huge loss," the locals said.
They further said the nearest Fire Station is at Nowshera which is 35 kms away from Sunderbani, which fails to take prompt action in case of fire breaks out. "Recently a gas cylinder was burst which caused huge loss due to non availability of Fire Brigade. The demand of Fire Station has been raised with the local administration on many occasions but till date it has been remained unaddressed. Moreover there is no shortage of State land within the town," they said.
They urged to the Lieutenant Governor to intervene into the matter. They also threatened to launch agitation in case their demand was not met at the earliest. |
