| JK girl wins gold in fencing championship | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 10: A class 10th student of Presentation Convent School Jammu Shreya Gupta, has brought laurels to the newly formed UT by becoming Junior (U-19) National Fencing champion.
In the ongoing 27th Junior National Fencing championships being held at Bhopal from 9-12 Nov. 2019. Shreya won individual Gold medal in Sabre event by defeating all her opponents without losing any bout in swashbuckling manner. In the Semi-final, Shreya defeated Poorna Singh from Madhya Pradesh and in Final, Chanu L.Abi from Manipur by 15-7 &15-4 points respectively.
By winning the individual Gold medal Shreya has qualified for the upcoming International events like Asian championships and world championships to be held in 2020. |
