BJP's divisive politics shall prove its waterloo: JKNPP chairman Harshdev
12/20/2019 9:07:07 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 20: Complimenting the people of J&K for maintaining peace and harmony in the face of gravest of provocations by vested interests, Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman-JKNPP & former Minister said that prevalent situation was an eye opener for those who were questioning the pluralism and secular credentials of the erstwhile state.
While the divisive and fascist forces and political opportunists were trying to divide the country on communal lines, the saner elements had a greater responsibility to share and to prevent societal rupture on communal lines, observed Singh.
He expressed satisfaction that despite its multi ethnic and multi religious character, J&K had refused to fall a prey to evil machinations of vested political interests who were out to divide the nation to subserve their selfish political motives. He said that prevalent calm in the erstwhile State was a bracing step on the face of those who were discrediting J&K and its political leadership and had dis-integrated and demoted the State on the grounds of law and order crisis. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.
Accusing the BJP led govt. of failure in controlling mob violence and fast collapsing law and order, Singh questioned whether it would convert the violence ridden states also to the level of Union Territory in view of fast deteriorating situation therein. He said that BJP ruled states had witnessed naked dance of death and destruction in the past few days with law and order machinery having been invariably crippled and paralyzed. He said that with states like U.P. and Karnataka on the boil and North East burning, the raging fires had the potential to engulf the whole nation.
Holding the BJP Govt. squarely responsible for the prevailing crises in the country and the resultant ruin and destruction, Singh said that it had failed to win over the confidence of the fellow countrymen.
He said that BJP had all along been raking up controversial issues with its slogans of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas" having proved hollow and empty. Having failed to deliver, it had been raking up controversies only to divert the attraction of the people from its mal-goverance, failures and economic slowdown. Urging upon the people to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood at all costs, Mr. Singh said that divisive politics of BJP shall prove its waterloo in the long run.
Gagan Pratap Singh, State Secretary and Parshotam Parihar, State Secretary-PTU were also present in the press conference.
