Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 20: A pregnant lady lost her twins due to sheer negligence of Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri by not giving her treatment timely as no gynaecologist was present during night hour when she reached there.
As per reports, the patient Jasmine Akhtar wife of Aqib Javed from Thanamandi had started having labour pains on December 18, 2019 during night hour thereby her husband immediately took her to GMC Rajouri but shockingly no specialist doctor except nurses was available in the hospital at that time.
"When I inquired about the doctors, the nurses present there told me that there is no doctor present in hospital and they will have to wait for next day when all doctors will arrive in the morning. My wife, who was expecting twin, was in huge pain and when I asked them for providing her bed, they showed helplessness as there was no vacant bed available due to overcrowd in the hospital resulting we spent night in the car," said Aqib Javed, the victim' husband.
He further informed that when next day (i.e. December 19, 2019) they went to hospital at 10:30 am even then no doctor was present. "Sensing serious condition of my wife, I took her to a private clinic where doctor examined my wife and recommended immediate surgical operation thereby we went to hospital where my wife was operated but due to delay in treatment, we lost our twin as both were dead when operated," he alleged further adding that he was shocked to know that the doctor who examined her wife in the clinic in the morning was also serving in the GMC Rajouri.
Despite repeated attempts to contact concerned CMO, the official couldn't be available for the comments.
