ASCOMS & Hospital organizes Zonal Round of IAP Quiz for Postgraduates

Jammu, Dec 20: The 13th Zonal Round of Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) Quiz for Postgraduate students was held in Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital. The Quiz was organized by the Department of Paediatrics under the aegis of Dr. Ravinder Kumar Gupta, Prof & Head & Zonal Co-ordinator. Teams from A.I.I.M.S. (New Delhi), PGMIER (Chandigarh), S.M.S. Medical College, Jaipur and GMC Jammu will be participating in the event. The team comprising of Dr. Umang & Dr. Tousiff Ullah from AIIMS, New Delhi emerged as winner in a neck to neck competition, Dr. Nikhil & Dr. Ashna from GMC, Jammu were declared as runners up. The 3rd position was bagged by Dr. Muskan & Dr. Navagata from Jaipur. During the course of deliberations, the students also participated in the event and won several prizes.
Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS was the Chief Guest and among others were present Dr. D.B.Sharma, former Prof & Head Paediatrics, GMC & ASCOMS, Dr. Suraj Gupte, Prof & Head Paediatrics, Mamta Medical College Khamam, Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Ashok Gupta, former Prof & Head Paediatrics, GMC Jammu, Dr. Sunil Dutt Sharma, Prof of Paediatrics and President IAP City Branch, Dr. Sanjeev Digra, Dr. Ashu Jamwal, Dr. S.S.Slalthia, Dr. Ramesh Khajuria, Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Dr. Shabir, Dr. N.K.Pargal and Dr. Manoj & Dr. G.S.Dhillon from 166 MH. This scientific activity was also witnessed by senior faculty, Postgraduate and Undergraduate students.
Dr. Malhotra while addressing the audience congratulated Dr. Ravinder Gupta for organizing the PG Quiz despite the fact that his department is a non-PG department. He congratulated all those who participated, especially the winners of the Quiz competition team. The AIIMS team which has won this Quiz has qualified for the National Round being held on 9th of January 2020 at Indore. At the end of competition, the prizes were distributed among the winners and participants.
