UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 21: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Dr Piyush Singla today inaugurated Solid Waste Disposal System at Jakhar Sui area in presence of Director Urban Local Bodies, Jammu Veer ji Hangloo.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that Udhampur district will be the first district to have such kind of plant for solid waste disposal. He congratulated the Urban Local Bodies Department for installing the system realizing the problem of solid waste. He also transferred 10 kanal of land to ULB for more installation of this technology.
This will give a major boost to effective and clean disposal of waste in absence of permanent landfill site in Udhampur, he added. DDC expressed willingness to install waste segregation and compositing plant in next phase.
