Congress to observe Foundation Day' on Dec 28

Jammu, Dec 26: A meeting of senior leaders of the party under the chairmanship of JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir was held here today at PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk Jammu to discuss the programme for celebrating Congress Foundation Day on December 28th and take out a march from Shaheedi Chowk to Indira Chowk.
The meeting discussed the Nation Wide programme of Congress party to celebrate Foundation Day of Party and take out flag march on December 28th, the foundation of congress party was laid in 1885 and the day is celebrated by the party throughout the country.
As per AICC directions the JKPCC and all its party wings shall participate in the flag hoisting at Shaheedi Chowk at 11 a.m. and after flag hoisting, a flag march shall be taken out from Shaheedi Chowk to Indira Chowk.
Prominent who attended the meeting included former Ministers & PCC Vice Presidents Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla and G.M. Saroori; General Secretary Th. Balwan Singh (Ex-MLA), Co-treasurer Rajnish Sharma, General Secretary Th. Manmohan Singh, President Mahila Congress Indu Pawar (Ex-MLA), DCC President Jammu Urban Vikram Malhotra, DCC President Jammu Rural Hari Singh Chib and others.
The meeting discussed the current scenario of State and Centre. The meeting also discussed the various issues facing the country and said that the present BJP Government has failed to contain the situation and indulging in vote bank politics thereby disturbing the secular fabric of nation apart from unprecedented price hike and economic slowdown and various steps being taken and polarize the pluralistic Indian society due to vote bank politics of BJP Government. The party shall highlight the issues concerned the people as a responsible opposition party committed to the foundation of the values of constitution.
