| Drugs Controllers inspects Sale Establishments | | |

JAMMU, Dec 26: Drugs Control Officers of District Poonch today conducted an inspection drive to secure due diligence with quality parameters and other provisions mandated under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 and rules. During the inspection 18 Drug Sale Establishments of Tehsil Haveli and 11 Drug Sale Establishments of Surankote areas were inspected by the concerned officers.
A total of 11 drug samples of different categories were lifted from the open market. The samples will be referred to Drug Testing Laboratory for opinion w.r.t their identity, purity and strength. 11 establishments were show caused for violations of different provisions under Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and rules especially with regard to non-maintenance of records of Schedule H1 drugs.
During the inspection, officers emphasized upon the need to adhere to provisions of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act and Rules. The Chemists were told to obtain copies of prescription from buyers of medicine particularly while dispensing Schedule H1 drugs. The challenges posed by drug abuse & antibiotic resistance can't be countered without unconditional support of trade fraternity dealing with Medical products, the vendors were told. |
