Training programme on High Density Plantation in fruit crops organize

Jammu, Dec 26: State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI-J) organize two days training programme from 26 to 27 December, 2019 on "High Density Plantation in fruit crops" in collaboration with Division of Fruit Science.
S.M.S, H.D.O' and technicians from Horticulture Department and students of Fruit Science attended the training programme participated in the programme. Dy. Director SAMETI-J Dr. Ramakant Sharma inaugurated the training programme and emphasized for effective awareness among farmers about "High Density planting in fruit crops".
Dr. Amit Jasrotia, Coordinator of training programme welcomed all the participants and staff members.
Dr. Parshant Bakshi, Associate Professor and I/c Head, Fruit Science delivered lecture on High Density planting of fruit crops.
He also discussed about the importance of planting material, drip irrigation and training pruning for laying out high density orchard.
Dr. Vikas Tandon delivered lecture on plant architecture for high density while Dr. Arti Sharma and Dr. Nirmal Sharma delivered talk on Use of rootstocks in high density planting and traiing and pruning of temperate fruit orchards, respectively. The vote of thanks was presented by the Co-Coordinator, Dr. Deepji Bhat.
