Bad lights spoils match for second consecutive day, J&K scores 210/2

Jammu, Dec 26: For second consecutive day, bad light halted the Ranji match of Jammu and Kashmir and Assam here at the Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College ground, Jammu on Thursday.
Jammu and Kashmir team ended the day on 210 for the loss of two wickets in a bad light affected game. The match did not started till afternoon as officials said that there were no proper lights to start the game.
It was in the late afternoon, when the game resumed with Jammu and Kashmir resuming the days play on the score of 59 runs losing one wicket. While, on day 2, only 34 over’s were bowled whole day of the Ranji Match.
Suryansh Raina and Subham Khajuria score half centuries putting Jammu and Kashmir in dominant position. Both the players had a partnership over 135 runs with Suryansh Raina
scoring 73 runs in 125 balls.While Shubham Khajuria remained not out on the score of 87 runs and Henan Nazir added 13 runs on day 2 stumps. Jammu and Kashmir team scored at a run rate of 4.04 runs per over.
Earlier on the day one, only 18 over’s were bowled as bad lights halted the day’s play and Jammu and Kashmir scored 59 runs and loss the solo wicket of Ahmed Banday.
A match official said, “The light was very low to continue the match on the day 2 as well”. He added, “The weather in the Jammu was not pleasant and we are looking forward for day three and if matches ended in draw both the team will share some points”.
Jammu and Kashmir had come strong in the match while winning two back to back matches by defeating Maharashtra last week and Uttarakhand in the first two matches.
Jammu and Kashmir team had defeated Uttarakhand by 253 runs in the first match Abhimanyu Cricket Academy, Dehradun. While in the second match Jammu and Kashmir had won the game in the last day thriller against Maharashtra at MCA Cricket Stadium, Gahunje, Pune.
Jammu and Kashmir is currently placed 4th in Elite Group C with 12 points in 2 matches.
