Jammu, Dec 28: Vishwa Bharati Higher Secondary School Akalpur Morh, Jammu celebrated its annual sports day with a great pomp and show.
Superabundant preparations were made regarding the organization of this gala show. The whole playing ground was voluptuously decorated with flowers, flags and buntings presenting a fantastic visual expression. All the members of Vishwa Bharati management committee. J.L Koul Vice- President Vishwa Bharati Women's Welfare Education, Prof. A.N Sadhu Academic Chairman Vishwa Bharati Women's Welfare Education, O.P. Razdan , Dr. S.K.Koul Secretary Vishwa Bharati Higher Secondary School along with other invited guests were present on the occasion. Dr. Daud Iqabal Department of PHE University of Jammu was the Chief-Guest whereas Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District officer DYSS was the Guest of Honour. The whole stage and pavilion were teemed with guests, parents, teachers and students. School Principal Annapurna Koul read " Welcome Address" in the honour of invited guests. Programme commenced with the ignition of the torch by chief- guest and other dignitaries which was followed by mass drill exercise that gave a kick start to a daylong sports activities in which a series of athletic events were presented by the students in a compact and compatible style. These events included dumb-bell exercise, Lazium, umbrella drill, yoga asanas, relay rance, cycle race, 100 mt race, spoon and lemon race, sack race, three leg race, frog race, butterfly race etc. all these events were efficiently prepared by the sports teachers Joginder Singh and Sneha Chowdhry who were well - acclaimed by everyone. Chief- Guest in his address cited the importance games and sports in every individual's life.
He asserted that only through sport we can keep ourselves physically as well as mentally fit. He also praised sports teachers of the school for efficaciously preparing the students for sports day events. Chief- Guest in his taciturn speech admired the students for their enthusiastic and fabulous presentatuion and praised the sports teachers of the school for preparing the students tremendously in this severe cold weather.
