Ram Madhav exposes J&K BJP leaders’ dubious role on domicile issue
12/29/2019 1:01:26 AM

Early times report

Jammu, Dec 28: BJP's point-man in J&K Ram Madhav was non-committal on granting domicile to the residence of J&K to protect land and job rights to locals. Instead of taking a clear position of this highly emotive issue, Ram Madhav bluntly stated that he was not aware of any such move that concession like domicile would be given to the residents of J&K. Madhav during his two-day unscheduled tour of Srinagar, refused to make any commitment on granting domicile to the people of on the pattern of neithbouring Himachal Pradesh. Madhav's stand on this issue has exposed local BJP leadership because majority of J&K party leaders were claiming that job and land rights of the people of J&K would be protected any cost.
When some media persons sought to draw attention of Madhav towards reports that Centre was thinking to grant domicile to people of J&K, he said, "I am not aware of any such development".
Credible sources said that instead of taking a tough stand on protecting land and job rights of the people of J&K before the Centre, local BJP leaders were merely indulged into merely issuing press statements just to befool people of Jammu. "Not even a single BJP leader has raised this issue before the high command because they lack guts to take up peoples' issue before the central leaders", sources said. During recent visit to Delhi some local BJP leaders raised this demand before some second rung central leaders but they failed to take up the stand convincingly.
Credible sources said that most of the local BJP leaders are worried about their vehicles and bungalows and they are least bothered about rights of the people and during their meetings with central leaders they always raised their personal issues for example providing new vehicles and to allow them to live in the official bungalows.
