Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 28: The Ranji match played between Jammu & Kashmir and Assam ended in draw after bad lights affected the four days of cricket resulting in one point to J&K and Assam. Both Jammu and Kashmir and Assam team took one point.
Jammu and Kashmir would consider it unlucky as they had golden chance to seal the game had bad lights not come into play and seal the three important points to jump one place in Elite Group C of the Ranji Tournament.
On day four of the match only 22 over’s were bowled out and Assam did not loss any of the wicket. While as due to bad lights in last four day’s 90 over’s could not be bowled. Jammu and Kashmir is currently placed on third position with 13 points in three games.
Earlier Assam won the toss and opted to field first, while on the day first, bad lights affected the day with Jammu and Kashmir scoring 59/1 in 18.0 over’s. On day two, ended the play on 210 for the loss of two wickets while only 34 over were bowled.
On third day of the match, Jammu and Kashmir team batted superbly with Abdul Samad and Shubham Khajuria scoring centuries as J&K team scored 460 runs and declared the innings. Abdul Samad, scored a quick 103 runs in 72 balls.
On the final day of the match Jammu and Kashmir team tried hard to seal the game by taking opponents wicket. However, bad light affected again and match ended in draw. Jammu and Kashmir will next play against Jharkhand on 3 January. While as Assam will take on Uttarakhand on same day.
