Jammu, Jan 5: Ashiq Hussain Bukhari Chief Executive Officer UT of J&K and Ladakh distributed the prizes among runners & winners of the Senior Players, Girls and Under-12 boys in "AOI Christmas T20 Cricket Championship" in the presence of Dr. Saleem Ur Rehman Director General Department of Youth Service & Sports, Priya Sethi Former Minister and Sr. BJP Leader, Fr. Kuriakose President Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu, Shahid Parvez Chairman Selection Committee JKCA, Rajesh Gill President Christian Sports Org., Suresh Gupta Health Officer Jammu Municipality, Anju Gupta ZPEO Gandhi Nagar, Vijay Saberwal President Parade Sports Association, Pastor Robin, Asif Gill, Sunny, Griffan Gill, Johnson Gill, Rakesh Koul and David Mattoo at Parade Ground Jammu.
Ashiq Bukhari CEO JKCA was the Chief Guest in the Valediction function, Dr.Saleem Ur Rehman Director General Department of Youth Service & Sports was presided over the function whereas Priya Sethi Former Minister of BJP,Fr. Kuriakose President Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu, Shahid Parvez Chairman Selection Committee JKCA and Suresh Gupta Health Officer Jammu Municipality were the Guests of Honour.
Chief Guest while speaking on the occasion appreciated the Christian Fellowship Trust and Christian Sports Organization for organizing 7th edition of the Christmas T20 Championship by involving Youths, Girls and under-12 boys on the occasion of Christmas with the objective to involve youths in sports activities so that they may derail from the main stream and stay away from drugs.
Earlier the welcome address and brief report of the Championship was presented by Rajesh Gill Former Ranji Player & Org. Secy. of the event whereas Justina Victor conducted the proceedings of the inauguration function.
In the final match Horizon Club defeated Christian Sports Club by runs. Batting first Horizon Eleven scored 196 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs with Abhinav Puri 76 runs, Piyush 59 and Jatin 18 runs. From bowling side Rajesh Gill , Sunny and Prethi took 1 wicket each . In reply Christian Sports Club could not chased the target and managed to score 144 runs by losing all wickets thus lost the match by 52 runs .Kartik scored 38 runs, Farooq 24 and Rayees 17 runs were other contributors. From bowling side Paras Sharma and Ashish took 3 wickets each,Imran took 2 wickets while Jatin and Sukha took 1 wicket each . Abhinav was adjudged as Man of the match, Istiaq declared Best Batsman, Imran declared Best Bowler and Jatin declared player of the tournament . Cash prize of Rs.20,000/- was awarded to the winning team whereas Rs.10,000/- was awarded to the Runners Up.
In the match of Girls Angels Cricket Club defeated Jammu Cricket Club.
Batting first Angel CC scored 64 for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted 10 overs with Rijjat 16 runs, Nancy 14 and Jaspreet 12 were the main scorer. From bowling side Sonika took 2 wickets and Pushpa took 1 wicket each. In reply Jammu Cricket Club could not chased the target and made 49 runs with Sonika 27 runs was the main scorer. From bowling side Kajal took 2 wickets Ananya took 1 wicket. Jaspreet Kour was declared player of the tournament in the Girls matches.
In another match of Under-12 boys, Game Changer defeated GSI Juniors by wickets.
Battingh GSI Juniors scored 62 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the allotted 10 overs with Adijya 33 and Gurtej 11 runs. From Bowling side Rivesh took 1 wicket .In reply Game Changer Juniors chased the target in 8.5 overs with Shiva 37 runs and Shouray Manhas 24 runs without losing any wicket thus won the match by 10 wickets. Shiva declared man of the Match in final.
The matches were officiated by Ashok , Vijay and Sanju .
The member of the organizing committee includes Rajesh Gill, Asif Gill, David Mattoo, Edwin Khokher, Grifan Gill, Vijay Saberwal, Harsh Nayar, Sudhir Singh, Sunny Gill, Victor Sotra, Caben , Justina Victor. Whereas the championship shall be organized under the overall supervision of Fr. Kuriakose President Christian Fellowship trust Jammu and Rajesh Gill Former Ranji Player.
