B R Sharma elected as chairman, IIPA J&K Branch

Jammu, Jan 5: B.R.Sharma, IAS was re-elected as Chairman of the IIPA, JK Regional Branch for the period 2020-2022 during the 41stAnnual General Meeting of the Branch which was held on January 4, 2020. Dr. Ashok Bhan, IPS, Former DGP, J&K Police has been nominated as Patron for the Branch.
During the AGM, which was attended by 54 members, the new office bearers for the period 2020 - 2022 were also elected and the Executive Committee was also nominated. The office bearers elected for the period 2020 - 2022 are ErJ.B.S.Johar- Vice Chairman (Jammu);Dr G.N.Qasba- Vice Chairman (Kashmir); Dr PawanKotwal, IAS - Vice Chairman (Central); Prof Alka Sharma- Hony Secretary;Shri Vikrant Kuthiala- Hony Treasurer;Dr Anil Gupta- Joint Secretary (Jammu); G.M.Andrabi- Joint Secretary (Kashmir); K.B.Jandial, IAS (Retd) Director Seminars; Lt Col (Retd) Karan Singh- Joint Director Seminar (Jammu) Prof S.M. Afzal Qadri- Joint Director Seminars (Kashmir)
The 15 member Executive Committee nominated include Sh. Kuldeep Khoda IPS (Retd), Sh. A.M.Watali IPS (Retd) , Sh. P.P.Sharma IFS (Retd) Dr. C.M.Seth IFS (Retd), Prof. Rekha Choudhary, Prof. Mehrajudin, Er. M.M.Gupta, Sh. Prem Gupta IPS (Retd), Sh. Rajeshwar Singh, KPS, Dr Naseer Iqbal Bhat; Sh. B R Sharma in his address while complimenting the outgoing team said that more active and focused effort is required to make the branch vibrant and performing. He said that branch is committed to establish itself as a Centre for Excellence in public administration and management by taking up research projects having public policy implications.
Dr. Ashok Bhan in his address said that the branch should develop Vision 2025 and lay emphasis on quality output in form of policy reports, research projects, training programme, seminars and panel discussions. He said that joint projects in collaboration with academic institutions should be planned. Dr S.S.Bloeria, IAS (Retd.) former Patron and Chairman of IIPA, JK Regional Branch in his address emphasized that the responsibility should be shouldered upon people who can take the branch to achieve its vision.
Dr. Anil Gupta, Joint Secretary presented the annual report and Sh. Vikrant Kuthiala, Hony Treasurer presented the statement of accounts for the last financial year. Prof Alka Sharma formally welcomed the august gathering and conducted the proceedings of the function. Er. M.M.Gupta was the returning officer during the conduct of the elections.
