1/7/2020 9:14:29 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 7: A delegation led by Ashok Singh Chairman Chinor Farmers Association, and it's President Jaswant Singh Rakhwal and Mohan Singh Rakhwal General secretary met NCP President J&K Kamal Gupta thereby narrating their unfortunate plight of villagers of Chinor farms which was occupied and taken away from the farmers by the agriculture department for seed farm.
The victim's strongly protested for the negligence and callous attitude of the government for not fulfilling their promise with the farmers as per law.
The said occupied land of farmers was taken on lease which has ended 28 years ago but is still under the occupation of the agriculture department without paying any adequate rent or compensation to the owners of the said land.
They demanded the release of their ownership rights back or to pay the adequate compensation or rent immediately before the situation will take an ugly turn.
They said that the farmers have become the target in the hands of BJP government and we have been listening to hollow promises by the present government.
They are on the verge of committing suicide and their families are in distress. Kamal Gupta assured them that their genuine cause will be brought in the notice of LG J&K UT very soon. He also requested them to have little patience until their demands are met. Meanwhile, Kamal Gupta President and RS Billoweria Senior leader of the party requested the concerned authorities of the agriculture department to look into the matter immediately and sympathetically to resolve the genuine grievances of the Chinor farmers.
The fixed rates along with interest should be released in their favor as per agreement and a colony may be developed for the farmers with employment scheme.
