JKPF to organize rally to clear clouds over CAA
1/7/2020 9:14:47 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 7: A meeting was held in the office of Tourism Federation of Jammu (TFJ), which was presided over by the General Secretary Tourism Federation of Jammu, Raman Suri, and attended by TFJ's affiliated organizations' heads, Sd. Amrik Singh, B.B. Kotwal, Tapan Dubey, Kuldeep Luthra, Gurmeet Singh, Gaurav Mahajan, Bharat Bhandari and many other prominent persons. Raman Suri briefed all the attendees about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 passed by the Government of India recently. He also apprised them about the upcoming Mega Rally to be organized by Jammu Kashmir People's Forum (JKPF) on January 12, 2020, at Parade Chowk, Jammu. Raman Suri said that common people cannot completely and clearly understand the legal language and some elements try to use this for instigating them even against the genuine laws acts, and policies of the Government. These elements have played their cards, this time against the CAA. This mega rally, he said, is proposed to educate masses about CAA, in which doubts about the provisions of the act will be cleared by prominent personalities and speakers in a simple and lucid manner. Explaining this Act to commoners in the simple language would help them understand how safe each and every Indian citizen is, as it is an Act of giving citizenship to religiously persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan and not about taking anyone's citizenship away, Raman Suri stressed. Thus, it was unanimously decided in the meeting that TFJ and all it's affiliated organizations will extend their full support and cooperation to JKPF for this Mega Public Rally to aware of the masses. Raman Suri also confirmed their participation in the rally in huge numbers, and said that this rally is the need of the hour and must be attended by all to know each and every detail about the Act.
