JMC holds a mega awareness camp

Jammu, Jan 7: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is making all efforts to aware people about the bad effects of un-segregated waste and use of polythene. Awareness campaigns, anti polythene drives, door to door campaigns and other diverse information, education & communication activities regarding solid waste management (SWM) are being undertaken on war footings in Jammu city.
Under Swachh Survekshan 2020 which commenced from 4th Jan 2020 Jammu Municipal Corporation along with IEC Partner Newsline Group held a grand IEC Camp at wave mall Jammu which was attended by Pankaj Magotra Commissioner JMC, along with his team and councilors of Jammu city. On the occasion A nukkad Natak titled " Shapath" was performed in which veteran Actor Madan Rangeela played the role of Maharaj Adi Raj supported by other cast & crew.
The play revolved around the city of temples Jammu and its water bodies that have reached the level of extinction due to waste and sewer thrown in to them. The play was designed by the content Development team of Newsline Group who has 20 years of expertise in designing of varied IEC campaigns under diverse genres for different organizations of Central & State Governments. The play was well designed and was well received by the audience present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion the Dy Mayor JMC Adv Purnima Sharma said that the Corporation through the medium of IEC/ Awareness camps has succeed in its efforts to create a public perception about the waste management in Jammu city he also added that public realization and support is utmost important to make Jammu a waste free city, he urged people to own their waste and take the blue- green pledge for source segregation and to display their civic sense. The commissioner also said that in coming days JMC will intensify the Awareness campaign on solid waste management and shall organize diverse IEC events in all wards administered by JMC. The commissioner assured that cleanliness and good sanitation for the inhabitants of Jammu is a matter of high concern for him and his team. It's pertinent to mention that the event was organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation Executed by Newsline Group and the event was partnered by Wave malls & Wave Cinemas.
