DDC Rajouri reviews disaster preparedness
Asks to set up emergency control rooms at Block level

RAJOURI, Jan 7: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today convened a meeting with the concerned officers to review disaster preparedness in view of inclement weather conditions.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohd Ashraf, Subdivisional Magistrate Thanamandi, Mohd Tanveer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria, District Health Officer, Superintending Engineer PWD, PC Tanoch, Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Mukhtar Ahmed Lone, Tehsildar Rajouri Sheraz Chouhan, Executive Engineer I&FC Rajouri/Nowshera, Executive Engineer PWD Rajouri/Nowshera, Executive Engineer PHE Mechanical Rajouri Division besides other concerned officers.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held with respect to various arrangements to be made by different departments to meet out any natural calamity during inclement weather conditions. DDC also reviews the status of the road connectivity, health care facilities and availability of ration in the district.
While speaking during the meeting, the DDC asked the officers to remain available at their respective headquarters for redressal of public grievances besides dealing with any exigency. He directed the concerned departments to set up 24x7 emergency control rooms in the district and sub-district headquarters to combat any emergency situation. He also asked the officers to keep men and machinery in a state of readiness to meet any crisis due to inclement weather.
Regarding the health services, it was informed that life saving medicines and other related vaccines are in stock in the District Hospital as well as in the SDHs and PHCs. The officers of the PWD and PMGSY informed that all the major roads are through in the district. Besides, the AD FCS & CA informed that adequate stock of ration is available in the district.
