| NIA probe into terrorist strikes in 2016 in Poonch demanded | | |

Jammu, Jan 14: The people of Poonch demanded National Investigating Agency (NIA) probe into terrorist attacks took place in Poonch district during 2016.
While talking to Early Times, a senior advocate and Chairman People Forum Poonch Sanjay Raina said that many terrorist attacks took place in Poonch district during 2016 but the concerned police failed to investigate the issue to nab culprits.
"An incident of bomb blast took place near Dashnami Akhara in 2016 just one day before Chhari Yatra led by VHP wherein 21 people were injured later on two person were scrummed to their injuries but police failed to nab the culprits behind the blast," he alleged.
He further said that an anti national protest was taken out by the people of a particular community raising slogans against India but police didn't do anything to stop the rally and to arrest the people who tried to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere. "Although this issue was raised by me in a meeting held by the then minister Zulfikar where officials were also present but no positive respond was received from them. Police played a role of mute spectators," he said.
In another incident, terrorist strike happened at Brigade Headquarter near Mini Secretariat on 11 Sept, 2016 but its investigation could not reach its conclusion. Many a time the demand of NIA probe was raised but nothing happened and the police allegedly tried to hush-up the matter. |
