| Air traffic resumes at Srinagar airport after two days | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 14: Air traffic at Srinagar International Airport resumed on Tuesday afternoon following major improvement in the visibility though sun was playing hide and seek since this morning in Kashmir valley, where heavy to very heavy snowfall was recorded during the past 36 hours.
A Met department spokesman said on Tuesday that weather will remain dry during the next two days before a fresh Western Disturbance (WD), which will hit the region on January 16.
Air traffic remained suspended for the second day on Monday due to fresh snowfall and poor visibility. "The airport authorities pressed into service sophisticated machine and cleared the snow on the runway today," an official of Airport said.
He said the visibility has improved considerably as sun was out though clouds could also be seen in the sky. Air traffic was resumed this afternoon after several flights were delayed.
No incoming and outgoing flight could operate at Srinagar airport for the past two days on Sunday and Monday due to snow and poor visibility.
Last month air traffic at Srinagar airport was suspended due to fog and poor visibility for about 12 days. |
