Jammu and Kashmir to get second largest cricket stadium of country

Jammu, Jan 14: The historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata will be dedicated to the players on January 15 for the country's second largest cricket stadium, Maulana Azad Cricket Stadium (MA Stadium) in the latter's playing area. The stadium, with a capacity of seventeen and a half thousand spectators, has been rejuvenated under the Prime Minister's Development Program (PMDP) at a cost of Rs 42.17 crore. The stadium has 24 stands which have 17 thousand chairs.

The radius of this stadium built on the banks of Tawi River is 79 meters, while the diameter (diameter) is 158 meters. It is designed on the lines of the International Cricket Stadium. It has five wickets ready to be used in international cricket matches. It has been prepared under the supervision of Indian Cricket Board curator Shiv Kumar. Selection forest grass and black soil have been used in its construction.
