1/14/2020 10:04:41 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 14: All Jammu and Kashmri POJK 1947 Shannarthi Intellectual Forum appealed to Lt. Governor Girish Chandra Mumur to enlists the holiday on the eve of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur’s Ji Martyr's day (Shaidi Divas) in the JK UT Holidays calendar of 2020.
The Forum said that great Guru has sacrificed his life and that of his entire family to save the Hindus especially Kashmiri Pandits from the tyrant rule of Mughal King, Aurangzeb who has started their mass conversions to Islam. The meeting said a delegation of Kashmiri Pandits led by Pt. Kirpa Ram approached the Guru Maharaj and appealed him to save the Kashmiri Hindus from the clutches of the tyrant King who had let loose a reign of terror and started forcible conversions in Kashmir also. The nine year old son of Guru Teg Bahadur, Guru Gobind Singh Ji asked him (his father) that there can’t be any pious soul than great Guru whose sacrifice will rid these hapless people from the cruelty of Mughal emperor.
The Guru Ji stood by these hapless people and took on with Aurangzeb. He and his family attained supreme sacrifice for a great cause to save Kashmir from the tyrant ruler. This was the biggest historical sacrifice of Guru Maharaj and his family which can never be forgotten, the Forum added.
The Forum has also made an appeal to their Kashmir Pandit brethren seeking their cooperation in jointly approaching the Lt Governor to demand holiday on the martyrdom Day of Guru Teg Bahadur in J&K.
The meeting among others was attended by Surjit Singh general secretary of the Forum, Jagjit Singh its publicity secretary, Kuldeep Singh, Naseeb Singh, K D Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Khazan Singh, Pritam Singh, Avtar Singh, ex president of the Forum, Bhupinder Singh and others.
