Motor Bike, Painting competitions marks 4th day of Road safety week in Rajouri

RAJOURI, Jan 14: Continuing with its efforts to encourage people to follow traffic rules during the ongoing 31st Road Safety Week, around 70 people, mostly volunteers, traversed across the city on their two-wheelers while driving home the message of traffic safety, especially the importance of wearing the helmet.
The bike rally was organized by Motor Vehicle Department Rajouri in association with City Police as part of the traffic safety week. Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh flagged off the rally in presence of Additional Superintendent of Police Liaqat Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohd Ashraf, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Inzar Ahmed Rana, MVD inspector Rajeev Bhasin and Ward Councillor, Sanjay Sharma. The main aim of this rally was to educate people about road safety measures. The MVD also organized painting competition for school children at Delhi Public School Rajouri in collaboration with other schools. More than 100 students participated in the painting competition. The aim of the department in organizing the painting competition is to inculcate the habit of road safety measures through art by young minds. A pledge was also taken during the Flag off ceremony.
Moreover Additional Superintendent of Police Liaqat Choudhary also Flagg off the three wheeler auto awareness rally from the New Bus stand Rajouri, which after passing through public places finally culminated at New Bus stand Rajouri.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer Inzar Ahmed Rana, Station House Officer Rajouri, Sameer Jillani ,Inspector MVD Rajeev Bhasin, officials of MVD and members of the unions were present on the occasion. A team of doctors from Health Department conducted medical check-up and eye check up of drivers and conductors of the Commercial vehicles at Nowshera which was organized by MVD in Association with health department .The camp was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera Sukhdev Singh Samyal while Block Development Officer Chanderkant was also present on the occasion.
