DDC Kathua reviews progress of works under BADP

Kathua, Jan 14: District Development Commissioner, Om Prakash Bhagat today reviewed the physical and financial progress of the development works under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) in the district.
DDC inquired about the physical status of the ongoing works, number of schemes completed during the current financial year as well as the headway achieved so far on the works under progress.
The meeting was appraised that about Rs. 5.7 Crore have been received as revalidated amount of previous years and about Rs. 2.0 Crore under Normal BADP Plan 2019-20.Detailed discussions were also held on the Tribal Sub Plan, Model Village works in cluster model villages Kore Punnu and Airwan.
The DDC directed the officers to make all out efforts to ensure satisfactory provision of basic amenities to the people of the border areas and to gear up their men and machinery for completing the works well before 31st March, 2020.
Works under Rural Development Department, PHE, PWD, Irrigation and Flood Control, Soil Conservation were also discussed in detail being executed in three Blocks of Kathua under BADP. He directed the officers to utilize the money judiciously for creating public assets in the border villages for benefit of the people further adding that disputes if any be brought into the notice of District Administration so that they can be resolved appropriately.
DDC instructed the concerned engineers to strictly adhere to the quality parameters and timeline for execution of projects. He stressed upon them to closely monitor the pace of work through field visits by the officers/officials.
Among others CPO, Uttam Singh, ACD, Sukhpal Singh, CEO, T R Mangotra, BDOs and Engineers were present in the meeting.
