CUJ conducts 'KaviSammelan"

Jammu, Jan 30: The Central University of Jammu brought prominent poets together on Thursday. The Sammelan started with lightning of lamp.
CUJ also announced the publication of a new Patrika to encourage students to write. Students were motivated to contribute a magazine publication.
The Patrika would contain regional languages like Dogri and Kashmiri. The first edition of the magazine would be published in February end.
Dr. Dharmendra recited the first poem of the poem conference. The poetry was on women's condition in society. It received huge applause.
Poetess Girja Sharma presented a poem on "Vasant Panchami".
Piyush Kumar a student of the Hindi department recited poetry on Goddesses Saraswati.
Krishan Kumar Sharma dedicated his poetry to migrated Kashmiri Pandits. "Yehjokhandartooteymakandekhraheinho, yeh Kashmiri panditokehai" were the starting lines. His second poem narrated the struggle of a person who "stammers".
KamaljeetChoudhary presented a poem under the title "Sui aurdhaga".
Randhir Singh Raipuriya presented poetry full of wit and humor. Anita Mehta, Anila Singh also presented their poetries. Pardeep a student of mass communication department presented small poetry on Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Students of the Hindi department who qualified NET/JRF were facilitated at the conference. All the poets and poetesses were also facilitated. Prof. Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Govind Singh, HOD mass communication and new media, Dr.Vandana Sharma, HOD English were present at the conference.
Dr. Vinay Kumar of the Hindi department co-ordinated the event.
