| Open garbage dump lying in hospital road | | |  Early Times Report
Mendhar, Feb 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" was launched with an aim to make India clean, seems to have failed in Mendhar Sub-Division of Poonch district as tonnes of garbage could be seen lying in several parts of the town. The people here in the town said the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Mendhar town has totally failed on the ground. The inhabitants of Mendhar Town have complained that Hospital Road has been turned into garbage dumping point with locals disposing of waste into it and the administration sleeping over the issue.
With the garbage-collection system collapsing in the SDH Mendhar Road the heaps of waste are mounting at SDH Mendhar posing a serious health threat to the patients. Even as lifting of garbage from the Road was irregular earlier also, the present crisis has aggravated the problem.The garbage generated at the shopkeepers was dumped near the wall of Road side.
The residents appealed to the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) to personallyif the problem cannot be addressed at the local level. |
