Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, Feb 3: The office of Director School Education Kashmir has become out of bounds for the common masses and the employees of the department who approach the office with regards to their own issues, grievances and problems.
Sources told Early Times that dozens of persons who have been visiting the office of Director School Education Kashmir are being denied the opportunity to meet the Director Mohammad Younis Malik. As a result of this the people are not able to project their grievances before the Director and there is no solution at the end of the day.
“For the past many days the Director has not been meeting the people who approach his office with respect to their particular issues. For hours together these people wait in the meeting hall and at the end of the day they are dejected since the officer does not pay heed to their repeated requests,” said sources.
Sources said that today (Monday) more than 20 persons were waiting for their appointment with the Director School Education, but after waiting for hours together these people left since they had to go to their respective homes in the different districts of Kashmir valley. They said that disappointment and dejection was written on the faces of the people who could not meet the Director.
“These people had come from areas like Langate, Rohama-Rafiabad, Sopore and Budgam. They reached the office of Director School Education Kashmir in the morning at 10 AM and waited for the appointment past 6 PM. Sensing the Director would not give them appointment these people left for their respective areas,” said sources.
Sources said that the Director was scheduled to hold a video conference between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM and for rest of the time he was free and could have met the people who visited his office. They said that the Personal Staff of the Director virtually rebuked these people and said that they should have the patience to wait.
“Few days back the Director did not give a damn to the pleas of the people who were waiting for him for hours together. Although, the Director left his office at about 5 PM still then he did not have the courtesy to call the people and listen to their grievances. He acted like a dictator and same was repeated today as well,” said sources.
Sources said that the personal staff of the Director and those who are running the media cell of the Directorate have told him not to worry since they are painting a rosy picture outside especially in the local media including the official media. They said that things are in bad shape and need to be corrected by the people at helm.
“It is important that the advisor who looks after the education department takes a strong note of bad situation at Directorate of School Education Kashmir. The Director needs to be pulled up so that he meets the people who approach him during the time slotted for public hearing,” said sources.
