PHE daily rated workers begins 24 hour Kam Chhor Hartal, demanded regularisation

Kishtwar Feb 7: Hundreds of Daily Wagers, Casual Workers, need base and other non regularised employees of PHE Hydraulic Division Kishtwar today begin 24 hour Kam Chhor Hartal at Kishtwar in support of their demands for regularisation of services and implementation of minimum wages act.
As per the details available with Early Times, the angry workers called for speeding up of regularisation process of casual workers, need base, ITI trained, land donors be expedited, release of all pending wages, jobs for next legal heirs of deceased Daily Rated Workers, special compensation/Assistance of Rs. 5 lakhs for retiring workers, creation of at least 20 posts of transport foreman for drivers/cleaner staff to create the promotion avenues for them, benefits of notional promotions and implementation of SRO 149 of 1973, first wages drawn by the casual workers be consider their date of first appointment.
The agitating Casual Labourers told the Early Times, that they have use all the peaceful means of protest to wake up the higher authorities from deep slumber added that even after the implementation of Union Territory, they are yet to receive the benefits under Minimum Wages Act.
They said that they have decided to observe peaceful strike to put the pressure on higher authorities to address the genuine grievances and demands of the PHE Casual Workers and other employees demand and threaten that in case the government fails to address their issues, they can go for long battle.
They said that they even called on DC Kishtwar and submitted a memorandum to him for further submission to higher authorities. They said that DC Kishtwar forwarded the memorandum submitted by them to Divisional Commissioner Jammu for further necessary action.
