Early times Report

Poonch, Feb 7: Municipal Council Poonch has allegedly allowed the Jio Fibre optical cable lying down work in the Poonch without obtaining of No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the executing company. Moreover, the Public Work Department Poonch also took soft stance against the company for the digging up of road and allowed the work without formal order.
Sources told Early Times that Jio Fibre is being laid down in Poonch town and for the digging of road has been carried out across the town, which has created shabby condition of the area.
“A team of Municipal Council had seized the digging equipments of labour few days ago and shockingly it released also things the very next day creating suspicion over functioning of MC, which allowed the digging work without NOC allegedly on extraneous considerations,” sources alleged.
Meanwhile, Public Work Department (PWD) Poonch also didn’t take action against the digging by the company. “Any company before digging road, deposit money for repair and maintenance but PWD never carries out repair work promptly and properly. It has been observed that the repair work is done near March 31 for clearing all pending bills. A very substandard work is done for just eyewash,” they said.
EO MC Poonch, when contacted, he admitted that no NOC has been issued to company. On being asked, how company is being allowed to execute work, the officer said that the company showed the permission of PWD.
Interestingly XEn PWD Poonch feigned ignorance about any permission to the Jio Company. “I don’t have any idea about any permission given by the department,” he said. The statements of both the officials contradict from each other, which create suspicion, sources alleged.
