Jammu CB arrests fraudster for issuing fake appointment orders in MES

Jammu, Feb 7: The sleuths of Crime Branch Jammu on Friday arrested a fraudster for duping people and issuing fake appointment orders in Military Engineering Services.
Official Spokesman here said that Crime Branch men have arrested fraudster namely Pawan Kumar of Bhagwati Nagar Jammu for duping the complainant and unemployed youth fraudulently of huge money to the tune of Rs. 12.00 lakhs in one case after inducing and luring them on the pretext of providing Govt. jobs in MES Headquarters, Srinagar.
The accused was evading his arrest since long by changing his locations frequently in West Bengal and Punjab but the professional team of Crime Branch coordinated their efforts very well and finally arrested him.
The spokesman said that the case owes its origin to a communication received from SSP Jammu on a written complaint lodged by one Makhan Singh of Village Batoli Patair, Tehsil Billawar, District Kathua, at present Dogra Hall Jammu, Ranjit Singh of Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur, Sunil Singh of Ramnagar District Udhampur and Pardeep Kumar of District Udhampur for cheating and fraud committed by the accused and co-accused Saroop Lal of Kothi Morh, Bari-Brahmana, District Samba.
A preliminary verification was initiated in Crime Branch Jammu into the matter and during the course of enquiry allegations were prima facie substantiated, leading to registration of criminal case in Crime Branch, Jammu.
During investigation, authentication of appointment / joining letters from the concerned MES Department was sought and it was found fabricated, he said and added that thus the accused persons making false and forged documents used them as genuine for the purpose of cheating gullible unemployed youth. The accused is on Police remand for further investigation.
