Politics of Hate and hatred
Omkar Dattatray2/7/2020 10:42:51 PM
There is no place for the politics of hate and hatred in our tolerant and secular democracy. India is a tolerant country from very old times neigh from the times immemorial. We are secular and tolerant not only because of being of being secular only but because of the fact that tolerance is ingrained in our flesh and blood .Though we were tolerant from old times, however the secularism has being made the tool of secular policy through an amendment by way of addition of word secular to the preamble of the constitution later on. Now secularism has rightly become a guiding principle of our destiny and therefore polarity and secularism is our fait accomplice because of our cultural legacy, philosophy and our constitutional guarantee. What is happening in the name of protesting against the abrogation of controversial article 370 of the constitution, CAA, yet to be declared but most required NRC, NPR is very unfortunate and disturbing? This is happening in our very diverse, inclusive and tolerant and secular country. There should be no politics rather hate politics in the name and pretext of protesting against the much required CAA and other such decisions of the NDA government. The ruling political parties and the opposition parties are duty bound to uphold the secular tenets of the constitution. Therefore the BJP and other NDA partners as well as the opposition parties should not indulge in politics of hate and hatred only for the sake of gaining some votes and some political points. So political parties should desist from politics of hate which has become very cheap in our democracy and is thus used to garner some votes in our electoral democracy. Day in and day out political parties are indulging in politics of hate to please different sections of the country and more so the minorities. False narratives and unfounded rumours are going spread to divide the volatile society by the countries opposition. While the opposition has a constructive role to play in a democracy but our political parties especially the congress, left parties, Trinmool congress, SP and BSP as well as other small and big parties are indulging in politics of hate and hatred only for the votes unmindful of its repercussions on the unity and diversity of the country. Both the ruling and the opposition parties should work honestly in the interest of the nation and should do nothing to damage the much needed communal harmony and national unity. But our political parties seem hell bent to destroy the much needed communal harmony and this should not be allowed to happen for the sake of tolerance, diversity and plurality.BJP and the opposition parties should see the reason and not to do anything which has the effect of damaging the secular fabric of the country. The gullible people of the country should not be swayed by the selfish and narrow political parties and their politics of hate and hatred. They should differentiate between the right and wrong and not come under the divisive politics of the political parties. The congress and other opposition parties are furthering the divisive politics only for their dream of getting the Delhi Darbar which is their only and only aim and for this they can stoop too low .For this damaging the country unity and integrity is no issue to them and for the sake of few votes they can go to any extent. All political parties including the opposition and the ruling parties should do nothing which is bound to destroy the unity and secular tenets of the country. Unfortunately there seems to be one upmanship between the political parties for the sake of vote bank and they indulge in dividing the people on the basis of faith, colour, creed and what not. All the political parties and the general people should not allow the division of the country and the people on the basis of religion because inclusiveness, diversity and tolerance and secularism ate the fundamentals of our democracy. The protests at Shaheen Bagh, Jamamillia, JNU,DU and other places is nothing but the policy of creating hatred in the country and that too under the banner of tri-colour. The people of the country should be vigilant and not allow themselves to be deceived by the cunning political parties. One is at a loss to understand that the protests are going at Shaheen Bagh and other places while holding the national flag and at the same time anti national slogans are raised. This is the way to confuse the gullible masses and to blackmail them. In short the political parties should not be allowed to take the people for granted and the political parties should desist from dividing the people on the basis of faith.
