Jammu, Feb 7: Character education is an important tool that nurtures and promotes ethical, intellectual, social and emotional development of individuals.
Senior Journalist, Pradeep Dutta, stressed upon this aspect of education while interacting with post graduate students of different colleges of Jammu & Kashmir via Satellite from EduSat Hub at Govt College for Education, Gandhi Nagar.
He was interacting with students during motivational workshop organised by Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar.
'For nation building, character building is very important, '' emphasized Pradeep Dutta.
He said character building is a continuous learning process that enables young people and adults to become moral, caring, critical, responsible individuals.
''Character education represents a relationship between knowledge, values and skills necessary for success in life,'' he added.
Pradeep used poetic expression to further generate interest among students present.
Pradeep also focused on role of teachers in nation building. He said how a teacher can inspire, guide and kindle the quest among the students by the way of his own example of character. ''
“We have seen that it is the subjective world that rules the objective. Change the subject and the object is bound to change, '' he added.
Instead of chasing marks and grades, Pradeep suggested students to chase knowledge to chisel their personality, and numbers will automatically follow.
