Jammu did not demand UT, BJP forcefully implemented it: Satish
2/8/2020 10:54:03 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 8: The demand for grant of full state status to the centrally governed state of Jammu and Kashmir has been growing slowly. The Congress is now taking this issue to the public on a large scale. Former Jammu Municipal Corporation chairman and senior Congress leader Satish Sharma has said that the demand for a centrally governed state was never made by Jammu, the BJP only divided J&K into two parts in the cycle of creating vote banks in other states of the country. Satish was addressing a public meeting in Block 71 of the Gandhinagar Vidhan Sabha on Saturday. He said that if the BJP is happy to make J& K a UT then why not BJP leaders go out among the public and declare this achievement. He said that if the BJP leaders of Jammu have the courage, then they should say this in any public meeting that the same people had demanded from the Center that J&K should be made a centrally-administered state.
, after that what the public responds to it and they should have the courage to listen.
He said that the general public is suffering due to not having an elected government in Jammu and Kashmir because the state is being run by an IPS officer who is the Lieutenant Governor and his four advisors.
Satish said that Jammu and Kashmir was our bouquet in which people of all colors lived, but the BJP broke this bouquet for its dirty politics and made brother fight brother.
He challenged the BJP and said that if the BJP says that by giving UT status, they have given great respect to Jammu and Kashmir, then by conducting the assembly elections, see if the people of Jammu did not forfeit the bail of all the BJP candidates after election results.
Satish said that Congress has always fought for the rights of Jammu and will continue to fight always. Now the Congress will launch an agitation to get full statehood status to Jammu and Kashmir and will make people aware by going door to door. Until the central government grants Jammu and Kashmir its rightful statehood, neither will Congress sit comfortably nor will it let the anti-Jammu BJP sit comfortably.
