Common masses expresses, 'Jaise Karni, Waise Barni '
PSAs slapped on former CMs of J&K for their own Karmas

Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, Feb 8: Slapping PSAs over the former chief ministers of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir has become a talk of the town, but one fails to understand why the common masses are happy over the decision of union government, and most of them said that it is all because of their karmas, (deeds).
However a netizen on the social media wrote that, he spoke to several people on the ground and none of them showed any concern, in fact many of them displayed happiness that finally some of the murderers of Kashmiris are now facing the same instrument of coercion PSA that they used against their opponents and common people.
While as many expressed their views and said that, the National Conference and all its chief ministers including Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah have lavishly used Public Safety Act (PSA) to ruin thousands of lives,
They have not left the former lady chief minister without praising her; netizens said that, she is equally involved in the heinous business of destroying people lives.
Under these circumstances it is no wonder that people are showing signs of happiness rather than any other emotion, wrote a netizens on his wall.
Another netizen wrote that they were intoxicated with the lust of power; they would treat commoners as trash, kicking them out. They were arrogant, power had gone into their head, the lady being incompetent, the only credentials she had was being the daughter of chief minister, mastered as drama queen. Not only it has brought cold comfort but people seem to rejoice it.
Another social media user wrote that, Omar Abdullah sanctioned 1537 detentions under PSA in four years from 2009-12, Mehbooba Mufti's PDP booked 1266 in three years during 2003-05, congress govt led by Azad detained 1010 persons in 2006-07 and Farooq Abdullah booked 503 persons in 2002.
While as one of the netizens wrote that, if news breaks out now that Abdullahs and Mufti's have been imprisoned for life, it will be Jashne Azadi out over there. Their PSA dossiers are stamped with the same words as they used to stamp innocent Kashmiris. 'Ye wawakh te lonakh'. Which means, as you sow, so shall you reap .
Ironically, the law was introduced by Sheikh Abdullah (Farooq Abdullah's father) in 1978. But its purpose was different. It was brought in to prevent timber smuggling, and keep the smugglers in prison. This is a preventive detention law that allows the State government to detain a person up to two years without a trial.
Incidentally, National Conference vice president and son of Dr. Abdullah, omar Abdullah had promised to repeal the controversial Act if he came back to power in the erstwhile state.
Pertinently on Oct 1/2013 Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah rejected demands to revoke the controversial Public Safety Act (PSA) saying there was no need to do so.
"There is no proposal or need for revocation of Jammu and Kashmir PSA, 1978, which has been amended last year to ensure that no citizen under the age of 18 years is detained under the law, chief minister Omar Abdullah informed the state assembly.
