Early Times Report
jammu, Feb 8: Security agencies have found a 'love connection' in January 31 Nagrota terror attack after a mobile phone packed in box was recovered from the truck carrying the terrorists and the ammunition.
Intelligence sources here on Saturday said that the mobile phone recovered from the truck was handed over to the handler Samir Dar, who was ferrying the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists to the Kashmir valley, by his friend in Rajasthan where he has gone to meet him.
"Samir, confessed during interrogation that the mobile phone was given to him by one of his friends in Jodhpur where he has gone to meet him," sources said adding that on hearing that Samir was directly going to Kashmir, his friend handed over the packed mobile phone to him to "gift" it to his girlfriend living in Baramulla.
"The girlfriend of Dar's friend lives in Baramulla and he wanted to send the mobile phone to her through courier service but when he came to know that Samir is going to Kashmir, he handed it over to him for delivering to his girlfriend," sources added.
"The phone was kept in the same truck by Samir, which was later used to take the terrorists and weapons to Kashmir, without telling his friend about the activity," sources added.
They further said that Samir's friend was also questioned and he confessed about handing over mobile phone to him for delivering it to his girlfriend, he wanted to "gift" her but he was not aware about his intent.
Security forces on January 31 recovered large quantity of weapons and ammunition as well as a new mobile phone from the slain terrorists in Nagrota area of Jammu.
Other recovery included six AK 47 rifles, M4 American carbine rifle, several pistols, more than two dozen grenades, steel cartridges penetrating bullet proof vehicles including magazines.
