J&K Branch of ICAI Awarded at National Level

New Delhi, Feb 8: The J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India was awarded with best state level branch at a glittering 70th Annual Award function of the institute organized at New Delhi.
The Award was presented by Chief Guest Sh. Om Birla, Speaker of Lok Sabha and Guest of Honour, Anurag Thakur , Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs to J&K branch which was represented by its Chairman, CA. Shalay Razdan & CA. Vinay Jamwal, Treasurer , in presence of CA. Prafulla Chhajed, President ICAI and CA. Atul Kumar Gupta, Vice- President ICAI.
The awards are presented annually to the best performing branches of ICAI across all regions taking into consideration various parameters of excellence in performance. Under the chairmanship of CA. Shalay Razdan, the branch successfully conducted numerous continuing professional education programs including Certificate and Diploma Courses where eminent speakers participated from all over the country. The branch conducted various batches of Orientation, General Management and Communication Skills, Integrated & advance integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills, Mock tests, etc for students. The branch also executed various social sector initiatives such as Plantation Drive, Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, Marathon , Yoga Day ,Blood Donation Camps etc.
The J&K branch also conducted various career counseling programs at various schools in the state especially in Government, Army Schools, etc in order to educate the students about CA Profession & also about the waiver of 75% of course fee for students of J&K & Ladakh if registered before 31st March 2020. The branch also conducted “Commerce Wizard” Exam for students of Class 10th & 12th. The J&K branch of ICAI, in association with PDC, ICAI initiated the process of entering into MOU with IIM Jammu for conduct of short term management courses / programs for its members.
Further, the branch also initiated the process of setting up of representative offices of ICAI at Srinagar and Leh. The other members of Executive Committee of J&K Branch of ICAI comprise of CA. Lalit Kr. Gupta (Vice Chairman) , CA. Nakul Saraf (Secretary) & CA. Arvind Dev Jamwal , (Chairman JKASA).
Various Central Council Members, Office bearers of various Regional Councils, Office bearers of various branches were also present at the Annual function along with a host of Chartered Accountants & Rank Holder CA. students.
