Digitization of Land Records: Dr Kotwal reviews progress in 11 Tehsils of Jammu District

JAMMU, Feb 12: Financial Commissioner Revenue, J&K Chief Executive Officer, Jammu & Kashmir Land Records Management Agency (JaKLaRMA), Dr. Pawan Kotwal, today reviewed the progress of writing- updation of Jamabandis in Jammu district as part of the digitization of Land Records under Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP), .
He took detailed review of the progress made in 11 Tehsils out of 22 Tehsils of District Jammu. The progress of digitization of land records was reviewed in Jammu North, Bhalwal, Jammu South, Bahu, Mandal, Arnia, Bishnah, Jammu Khas, Jammu West, Nagrota, Dansal.
Speaking at the meeting, the FCR directed the concerned officials to expedite the writing and updation of Jamabandis and their scanning and updation. He asked them to complete the process within the set time frame. Dr Kotwal reiterated the need for writing error free Jamabandis as there is no scope for wrong entries.
He appreciated the work of the revenue officials, who wrote error free Jamabandis in stipulated timeframe and asked those lagging behind to gear up the pace to achieve the set target. “The target is achievable but the need is to work with added dedication to complete these within given time frame,” he added.
He asked the senior functionaries to extend full support to the officials tasked with updating and writing of error free data of revenue land records adding that the task demands a team work effort. He asked for deployment of adequate man power so that work may not suffer and the process was completed on time.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan; Commissioner Survey & Land Records, Shahnawaz Bukhari; Additional Commissioner Revenue, Nazir Ahmad Baba; Regional Director, Survey & land Records Jammu, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad; ADC Jammu, Dr Tahir Firdous; SDMs of Jammu North, Jammu South, Consultant JaKLaRMA, Tarseem Chand, besides Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and senior officials of the concerned department.
