NIA files supplementary charge-sheet against 4 JeM operatives

JAMMU, Feb 12: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary charge-sheet in NIA special court Delhi against 4 Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) operatives who belong to Pulwama district. Sharing a detail a NIA official said that NIA has filed a supplementary charge-sheet in the NIA Special Court, Delhi in case RC-08/2019/NIA/DLI u/s 120B, 121A of IPC, sec. 18, 19, 20, 38 & 39 of UA(P) Act & sec. 4 & 5 of Explosive Substances Act.
The accused have been identified as Sajjad Ahmad Khan @ Sajjad, Bilal Ahmad Mir @ Bilal Mir @ Billa, Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat @ Ishfaq Bhatt @ Ishfaq and Mehraj-ud-Din Chopan @ Mehraj. All the accused are residents of Pulwama. As per the report, “The case pertains to a criminal conspiracy hatched by the senior commanders of JeM to carry out terror attacks in different parts of India including Delhi-NCR”. The Investigation has established that the accused persons are members of proscribed terrorist organization JeM, who were planning to carry out terrorist attacks and propagating the activities of JeM.
Reports further said that the slain terrorist Mudassir Ahmad Khan was the mastermind behind this conspiracy. He was one of the main conspirators in Pulwama Terror Attack as well and was killed in encounter with police and security forces in Tral area of district Pulwama J&K on 10th March 2019. “While as Sajad Ahmad Khan was directly in touch with Mudassir Ahmad Khan. Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat was involved in transportation of Arms and ammunitions for strengthening JeM in Kashmir and further harboured the operatives of JeM. One hand grenade was recovered from possession of Mehraj-ud-din Chopan. The hand grenade was procured with the intention of using the same against the security forces in J&K for snatching their weapons”, charge sheet reads.
“Previously, a charge sheet had been submitted on 16.09.2019 against 04 accused namely Sajjad Ahmad Khan, Tanveer Ahmad Ganie, Bilal Ahmad Mir @ Bilal Mir @ Billa and Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat u/s 120B and 121A of IPC, sections 18, 18B, 38 & 39 of UA(P) Act and section 4 of Explosive Substances Act. Further investigation continues u/s 173(8) of CrPC”, charge sheet further said.
