Early Times Report

JAMMU, Mar 7: In continuation to expansion of digital initiatives in the UTs of J&K and Ladakh, eCourts Project continues to add new services for the litigants and lawyers in the High Court and District Courts.
In a new initiative taken by the High Court, the cause list available on the website has been customized and made searchable.
With multiple search options, the cause list can now be searched case number wise, lawyer wise and party name wise.
Very soon cause list of the cases prepared by the High Court will be forwarded to the lawyers automatically on their registered mail IDs. This will greatly benefit the lawyers as the cause list will be available to them within no time of its generation and they have not to come to the High Court for collection of their copies of the cause list in hard form.
The High Court has started to collect email IDs from the lawyers for this purpose and has requested the Bar Associations at Jammu and Srinagar wings of the High Court for registration of email IDs by maximum Bar members to avail this service.
In the long run, publication of the cause list in hard form will be done away, which will not only save the public exchequer but will also be an eco-friendly step.
As has been reported earlier, the High Court has taken various initiatives to maximize the citizen centric services. Digitally signed orders and judgments of the High Court and of District Courts are now available on the website of the High Court and on the website of the concerned District Court.
Similarly, Court Notices issued by the High Court for publication through print medium are now available on the website of the High Court.
Already, the litigants and lawyers avail Push and Pull SMS service in which the case status is forwarded to a mobile number registered with the High Court or with the District and Subordinate Court where the case is pending. Lakhs of such SMSs have been delivered so far to the litigants and the lawyers.
