Swachhta Pakhwada 2020 observed in Rajouri

RAJOURI, Mar 7: On the directions of District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, District level Centre carried out various activities under Swachhta Pakhwada 2020 in the Rajouri district. The activities are being held under the supervision of deputy director planning and nodal officer of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Bilal Rashid Mir.
Various activities have been organised by the District Level Centre for Women at various institutions, public places and offices as a part of Swachhta Pakhwada 2020 under Swachh Bharat Mission to adopt sustainable practices and facilities through awareness creation and health education.
The day began with a Swachhta Pledge taking Ceremony, whereby all the staff and students pledged to undertook practices which not only contributes towards sustainable development but also influence others to do the same.
The pledge was taken to ensure that every individual should contribute towards making his locality clean. Such swachhta activities and cleaning drives have been organised throughout the Rajouri district.
Besides, the Department of Excise Rajouri today carried out a cleanliness and plantation drive in the office premises. The staff members of the Excise department took a pledge on Swachh Bharat Mission to keep their office premises neat and clean.
Similar function was also organised in the office of the STD Kalakote by the Executive Engineer STD Ashok Gupta. While interacting with the staff members, the officer said that it is an important step under the Swachh Bharat mission towards cleanliness. He also made them aware of the benefit of cleanliness in daily life and urged them to spread the message of cleanliness in the society so that the idea of making the district clean and green becomes a reality. They also highlighted the importance of the drive and said that such events shall be organized at places of public importance and sought public cooperation in this regard.
