Kishtwar Administration ropes in BDC Chairpersons against Corona virus campaign

KISHTWAR, Mar 7: In a series of its efforts to spread awareness among the masses about the Corona Virus, District Administration Kishtwar under the Supervision of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara has roped in Block Development Council Chairpersons to educate people in rural areas about the noval Corona virus.
DDC today chaired a meeting of BDC chairpersons at D.C office Kishtwar which was also attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohd Hanief Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pawan Parihar, Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; ACD Kishtwar Kishore Singh Katoch, DSWO, CMO, CEO and BDOs.
While speaking on the occasion, DDC asked BDC Chairpersons to act as focal point for spreading information and educating people about the Corona virus as well as about various centrally sponsored schemes.
In this context a sensitization and orientation Programme about the prevention of Corona virus was held in which CMO Kishtwar briefed the participants about the various preventive and curative measures to tackle Corona virus infections.
DDC directed all the District Officers to brief the BDC Chairpersons about their respective schemes and also get booklets of schemes and programmes of their respective departments printed and distributed.
Earlier, various Chairpersons raised issues of their respective areas including road connectivity, upgradation of various link roads, shortage of Health facilities in rural areas, frequent power cuts, scarcity of water among other things. The DDC after giving patient hearing assured them that all their issues would be resolved in a time bound manner.
Directions were also issued to various District and Block level officers to conduct monthly meeting with BDC chairpersons at their respective block headquarters so that a joint monthly review of developmental works is conducted at Block level.
