JAMMU, Mar 7: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma today convened a meeting to review the traffic management in Jammu city.
The meeting was attended by Senior Additional Advocate General, ADDC Jammu, SSP Traffic Jammu, besides senior officers of Public Works Department, Jammu Development Authority (JDA), Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and other concerned.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on streamlining traffic in the city and several decisions were taken for implementing effective road safety mechanism.
The meeting was informed that the JDA parking at the bus stand will cater to the high traffic density areas of Raghunath Bazar, Hari Market, Shahidi Chowk, BC Road and other adjoining areas.
The officials of JDA and JMC apprised the Div Com about the new proposed locations/sites for creating parking spaces in the city to minimize the road side parking.
The issues, including identification of black spots and accident prone areas, removal of encroachment from important city roads, improvement of rotaries, identification of parking spaces/areas, modernization of traffic management system, enforcement of road safety rules were also discussed in the meeting.
